ELEVATOR PITCH FAQ
What is Elevator Pitch?
Elevator Pitch is a pitch competition centered around technological innovation. Do you believe you have an amazing product or idea? Weiss Pitch is an opportunity to craft, polish, and ultimately pitch your product ideas in under two minutes for over $1,000 in prizes.
How does Elevator Pitch work?
The competition itself is a fast-paced, rapid-fire pitching session over one day. The application process begins in September, where applicants are selected and notified within a month to present their ideas to judges from Venture Capital, Design, and Consulting groups.
Who can apply to Pennvention?
Elevator Pitch is open to any teams that have at least one currently enrolled and full-time Penn undergraduate or graduate student in any school and discipline. Unfortunately, teams that do not satisfy this requirement will not be considered to move on past the first round.
My idea is for social impact and not for-profit. Will my submission even be considered?
Yes! Elevator Pitch has accepted non-profit ideas in the past, some which have done quite well in the competition along with the for-profit projects. However, because your project does not have a profitable business model, you must explain how your idea will be sustainable and scalable in order to advance.
